Hawaiian's N382HA

Today, Hawaiian Airlines is taking delivery of its third Airbus A330-243, N382HA (msn 1171). The aircraft is named "‘Iwakeli‘i", the Hawaiian name for the constellation Cassiopeia. It's making the delivery flight from TLS to HNL, non-stop, as N382HA.

By the way, today is Hawaiian's 81st birthday ... Hau‘oli Lā Hānau!

Mahalo to team member Aeros for the photo!

WOW! That is 6,750 NM or about 18 hours! Long ride for the crew.

Does anyone know if HA flies the plane or does Airbus deliver it?

Just as any aircraft delivered from the manufactuer the airline asumes responsibility. HA crews have flown all 3 new 330's home. A buddy of mine flew the second one home and said that a crew of 5 pilots went up to bring it home.

A friend caught the delivery flight going overhead of the YYC VOR:

Wow , I would have thought a flight that long would have been out of the A332's range. I realize there are no PAX, but is anything done to this aircraft to allow it to travel that far non-stop?
